Migrating Instances to NavVis IVION

The migration of existing instances to NavVis IVION happens automatically with the version update.

During the migration process:

• Data will be grouped by location and sites will be created accordingly. This includes loaded datasets and bundles as well as unloaded bundles.

• Unloaded datasets that are not part of a bundle have to be assigned to a site manually.

• POIs, POI attachments and measurements will be moved to their associated site.

• User groups will be created for each site based on the current permissions and users will be added to the sites accordingly.

Assigning Datasets to Sites

When migrating existing instances to NavVis IVION, unloaded datasets will not be assigned to any site automatically, but will have to be assigned to a site manually.

Follow these steps to assign datasets to sites:

1. If there are unassigned datasets in your instance, you will see the following message on your instance dashboard:

   

2. Click Assign them to a site now.
3. If you want to add a dataset to an existing site:
   1. Select a site from the drop-down menu next to the dataset.
   2. Click Assign datasets to sites.
4. If you want to add a dataset to a new site:
   1. Click Create a new site here.
   2. Add a new site to the instance.
   3. Go back to the Unassigned datasets dialog.
   4. Select the new site from the drop-down menu next to the dataset.
   5. Click Assign datasets to sites.
5. If you want to delete a dataset, click the bin button next to the dataset.
