Configuring a Site

This section describes the configuration options available on the site level.

Layer 1

Configuring Menu Visibility

Follow these steps to customize which menu items are shown in your site:

  1. Go to Settings > Site Configuration > Menu Visibility.
  2. Deselect any items you would like to hide from the menu. The following options are available:

Configuring Appearance

Configure the level of panorama detail loaded for mobile users, control POI appearance, and add style sheets for vector maps.

Follow these steps to configure the appearance of your site:
  1. Go to Settings > Site Configuration > Appearance.
  2. Use the up and down arrows at the end of the line Maximum resolution of the panorama images loaded for mobile users to change the level of panorama detail loaded for mobile users.
  3. If you want to add custom style sheets for vector maps, insert the URL to your style sheet between the curly brackets under Vector maps style sheet.
  4. By checking or clearing the selection from the boxes, choose whether or not you want to:
    • Hide the site from the dashboard for guest users
    • Show POI and site model details as full-screen dialog
    • Show POI names in the map view

    • Show POI names in the panorama view

  5. If you want to show only POIs of a specific category, enter the category number under Only show POIs from categories in the comma-separated list. If you enter more than one category number, they need to be separated by commas.
  6. If you want POI visibility to be adjusted, check the box Check and adjust POI visibility.

  7. Click Save.

Configuring Layer Visibility

Follow these steps to configure which layers are available to be viewed in your site:

  1. Go to Settings > Site Configuration > Layer Visibility.
  2. Deselect the checkboxes for any layers you want to hide. The following options are available:

Configuring Map Appearance

Follow these steps to configure the appearance of your maps in your site:

  1. Go to Settings > Site Configuration > Map Appearance.
  2. The following configuration options are available to you:
    • Base map: Select which map to display as a background layer. The default is OpenStreetMap.
    • Map tile URL: If you want to use a different map provider, you can enter the URL here. For example to use Google maps enter the following URL: https://mt2.google.com/vt/lyrs=m@167000000&hl=en-US&x=${x}&y=${y}&z=${z}

    • Map tile size (px): Select between displaying your maps as 512x512 pixel tiles or 256x256 pixel tiles.

    • Map tile zoom bias: Adjust the threshold for loading a new tile zoom level depending on the user's zoom level.

    • Maximum map tile zoom level: Select how far your maps can be zoomed in on a scale of 0 (fully zoomed out) to 22 (fully zoomed in).

    • Minimum map tile zoom level: Select how far your maps can be zoomed out on a scale of 0 (fully zoomed out) to 22 (fully zoomed in).

  3. Click Save.

Configuring Visibility of Built-In UI Elements

Follow these steps to customize which UI elements show up in your site:

  1. Go to Settings > Configuration > Visibility of Built-in UI Elements.
  2. Deselect the checkboxes for any items you would like to hide from your site. To following options are available to you:

Configuring Functionalities

Follow the steps below to configure the functionalities in your site:

  1. Go to Settings > Configuration > Functionality.
  2. By selecting or deselecting the checkboxes, choose whether or not to enable routing and site model search.
  3. Click Save.

Configuring the Primary View

Follow these steps to configure the primary view:

  1. Go to Settings > Site Configuration > Primary View.
  2. From the drop-down menus, choose the primary startup view for desktop and mobile devices.
  3. Click Save.

Configuring the Starting Location

The starting location is the first view you see when opening your site.

Follow these steps to configure the starting location for your site:
  1. Navigate to the desired starting location in your site.
  2. Go to Settings > Site Configuration > Starting Location.
  3. Click Set startup view.
  4. Click Save.

Setting the lowest user group for a site

This procedure describes how to set the lowest user group that can view a site.
  1. Go to Edit Site. From the instance dashboard, click the three dots next to the site and click edit.

  2. Switch off the toggle for Make site visible for everyone.

  3. A new field is displayed: Select the lowest user group that can view this site.

  4. Click inside the field and select the lowest user group that you want to be able to view this specific site.

  5. Click Next.
  6. Click Save.
